All clinical trials involve potential risks, which vary depending on the trial. These risks will be explained to you in detail before you give your consent, and measures are taken to minimize these risks as much as possible.
How long does participation in a clinical trial last?
The duration varies depending on the study. It can range from a few days to several years. You will be provided with the specific details of each study before you commit to participating.
Will I be compensated for participating in a study?
Compensation for participating in studies varies. Some studies offer compensation for your time and inconvenience, while others do not. This information will be clearly communicated to you before you participate.
What happens after the study ends?
At the end of the study, your treating physician will be able to explain the overall results to you once they are available. In most cases, if you participated in a therapeutic study, you will be able to find out which treatment group you were assigned to once the sponsor has provided us with that information. Research data may continue to be analyzed after the study has ended. If this data is shared as part of research projects, you will be informed.
